Tonight

Today starts "Bastille Days" here in downtown Milwaukee. This is usually a fun festival. First of all, it's free. You can't get any better than that. Labeled as a street festival, the event is known for the 5k run, street performers, musical entertainment, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, lots of food and alcohol and a signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica.

My husband and I enjoy this festival. It is in our backyard which makes it very convenient. Its a nice change of pace from the bar scene that we are getting too old for. It's nice to be outside, as long as it's warm, and enjoy good music, good food and good wine.

I will be participating in the 5k run this evening. It is crazy. Starts at 9pm and goes through the streets of downtown and the Third Ward. The finish ends right in the festival where most runners are handed a beer.
